Piotr Polczak: Nobody’s the favourite to win the derby
‘We need to keep a cool head and stay focused throughout the whole game,’ says Cracovia skipper Piotr Polczak ahead of the derby clash on Saturday.

‘We need to keep a cool head and stay focused throughout the whole game, says Cracovia skipper Piotr Polczak ahead of the derby clash on Saturday.

- Cracow derby is a game like no other. Will it be even more important for you to win on Saturday?

- Yeah, of course, Cracow derby is always more than a regular game. Earlier this season we won the derby clash, which really gave us a lot of confidence, and now we want for the history to repeat itself. We know that Cracovias situation is a bit different now than it was back then. We didnt win our last six games and were 13th in the league table. Wisła, on the other hand, bounced back and are doing really well after having a rough start to the season.

- When you play a derby game though you dont think much about your current situation.

- Thats true. Were not dwelling on the last couple of games and we are not moping around because we didnt win in  long time. You always focus on wanting to win when you play a derby game and this time its not going to be any different. It is very important that we grab three points, but in the same time we need to keep a cool head and stay focused throughout the whole game.

- Because you never know whats going to happen in a derby clash!

- Everybody says that, but although its quite cliché its also very true. Nobodys the favourite to win the derby. I think that really tiny details, for example whos going to feel better on Saturday, may be crucial to the final result.

- Are any of the previous derby games really stuck in your head?

- Maybe the most recent one - this year in the beginning of August we won 2-1 against Wisła. I remember all of the games but this one still feels pretty recent. Now were going to give it our all to continue the derby unbeaten streak that now amounts to three games.
