Atromitos F.C. is our possible rival in the Europa Leagues second round
The draw for the next qualifying round of the Europa League has ended. The winner of our clash with DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda will face the Greek side, F.C. Atromitos. Matches in this round will be played on 25th of July and 1st of August.

A potential rival of Pasy, just like ourselves, ended its last season on the fourth place in the domestic league. Thanks to this, they start the European competition from the second qualifying round.

The greatest achievement of Atromitos is winning bronze medals in the Greek league two times. Both of these successes, however, are decades apart. After finishing third in the 1927/28 season, the Greeks have repeated this in the 2012/13. Since then, they have established themselves as one of the main forces of the Super League, not falling below the eighth place in the table and repeatedly playing in the Europa League.

The battles in Europe so far have not been very successful for Atromitos. The Greek team plays in UEFA competitions regularly, but does not have high efficiency. Out of the seven rivalries played so far, the team from Athens only once advanced to the next qualifying round. It happened in the summer of 2015. Atromitos had beaten AIK Solna 1:0 and 3:1. In the next round, however, Fenerbahçe turned out to be the stronger side.

Our potential rival has changed their coach in the end of May. Yannis Anastasiou will prepare the team for the new season. His greatest achievement was a victory in the Greek Cup in 2014. The coach led another team from Athens to this success, as he managed Panathinaikos.

The Atromitos squad is based mostly on Greek players, but there are exceptions - most of them from Central and Eastern Europe. One of them is the Polish player, Dawid Kort, who just recently played in the Ekstraklasa. Since moving to Greece in January, he has played three times in the Athens team. Another connection with Poland can be found among former trainers of Atromitos. The team was twice led by the former coach of Legia Warsaw, Ricardo Sá Pinto.

Atromitos plays its meetings at Peristeri Stadium. The facility of our potential rival can accommodate over 10 thousand fans. This number includes 8969 sitting places. If we advance to the next round, we will play on that ground on August 1 in a second leg of this round. The first meeting can be held on our Stadium at Józefa Kałuży Street, a week earlier - on July 25th.
