Mathias was growing up in Hvidore, which is a part of Copenhagen's agglomeration. He spent all of his career in Denmark, where he represented clubs such as Nordsjaelland, FC Vestsjælland and FC Fredericia. His best part of career was definitely a pretty long episode with FC Lyngby, where he was a fundamental player and a captain in the Danish Superlig.
